This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Serra do Mar (literally meaning Sea Ridge in Portuguese), a 1,500km long system of mountain ranges in southeastern Brazil, with most of the elevations and peaks formed 60 million years ago. At the time of the European discovery of Brazil (1500), the Serra do Mar supported a rich and highly diversified ecosystem called Atlantic Forest, however, due to urbanization and deforestation, most of the forest cover has been destroyed; now it is a natural UNESCO World Heritage Site and is protected. See the forests for yourself by going to what3words.com and entering: series.order.proxy. (This is only for guidance as the forests cover a large area and have multiple access points).
