This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of Pelourinho, a historic neighbourhood in western Salvador. It is historic as it was the centre of the first colonial capital of Brazil, Salvador; it has been a designated UNESCO world cultural centre since 1985. Pelourinho remains a cultural hub thanks to the Afro-Brazilian community, whose cuisine, architecture, religion and music has hugely influenced the region, not only culturally but also politically.
