This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Richmond Lock Weir.
This structure was officially opened by the Duke and Duchess of York in 1894, at the celebrations of the system’s centenary in 1994, the Duke of York, HRH Prince Andrew, was appropriately the guest of honour. The lock and weir have undergone recent renovations, with a £4 million refurbishment in the early 1990s, and a £500,000 repaint that was completed in February 2020.
The views from atop the footbridge are well worth the visit especially at sunrise and sunset, see it for yourself by going to what3words.com and entering: ///boss.rocks.firm
