This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Port of Belém, in the state of Pará. Belém, the state capital, was founded in 1616, by Portuguese explorers. The port is located in the neighbourhood of Reduto in the city of Belém, it is defined by the export of chestnuts, wood, rubber, bauxite and iron ore, since its opening in 1909. The city of Belém has one of the best ratings of quality of life in northern Brazil with an HDI of 0.746, this is in part thanks to the European immigrants who influenced the architecture and local economy, and so it has come to be known as the Tropical Paris.
