This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Monumento às Bandeiras (Monument to the Flags). This landmark is a work in honour of the Bandeirantes, who explored the rural lands of Brazil during the 17th and 18th centuries. Despite the memorial, the acts of these men has recently come under criticism for claims of exploitation and violence to native Brazilians. It was inaugurated in 1953, as part of the celebrations of the IV Centenary of the city of São Paulo. See it for yourself by going to what3words.com and entering: uses.classic.twice
