This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Trophy Gate of Hampton Court Palace. The Palace is a Grade I listed Royal Palace; King William III’s attempt to rival the Palace of Versailles resulted in the two distinct contrasting architectural styles, Baroque and Tudor, that can be seen today throughout the Palace Grounds. On the approach to the Gatehouse, the ‘King’s Beasts’ can be seen on either side of the pathway, they were commissioned by Henry VIII, and are meant to represent his and his third wife's ancestry.

Other attractions within the palace grounds includes one of the only ‘Real Tennis’ courts in the world where the public can watch, an intricate maze in the vast gardens, and the largest grape vine in the world. See the palace yourself by going to what3words.com and entering: royal.cubes.trend (booking may be required).
