This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Diana Statue in Bushy Park.

This statue was commissioned in 1637 by Hubert Le Sueur at the request of King Charles I for his wife Henrietta, to be placed at Somerset House. The bronze statue depicts Arethusa, a nymph in Greek mythology, despite being called the Diana fountain, a Roman Goddess although recently it has been assumed to be a tribute to Princess Diana. The statue is set on a marble and stone fountain, surrounded by four boys, four water nymphs and four shells. In 1656 it was placed in Hampton Court, but in 1713 it was moved to Bushy Park.
